Announcing The 2015 Academic Senate Distinguished Faculty Awards

Distinction in Mentoring

The Academic Senate is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Distinction In Teaching and the Distinction In Mentoring Awards.

Recipients of the Academic Senate Distinction In Teaching Awards and the Distinction In Mentoring Awards will be honored at the Academic Senate Distinguished Faculty Awards Ceremony to be held Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in the Lange Room at the UCSF Library on the Parnassus campus.

To select each year’s recipients the Academic Senate Committee on Academic Personnel designates a selection committee comprised of faculty and student representatives from all four schools. Student representatives are assigned by Associate Deans from each of the respective Schools.

The Distinction In Mentoring Award Selection Committee is appointed by the Associate Deans in the respective Schools, and is Chaired by a member of the Committee on Academic Personnel.

The 2015 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award for faculty at the Associate rank is Anita Sil, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology.
The 2015 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award for faculty at the rank of full Professor is Stuart Gansky, MS, DrPH, Professor of Oral Epidemiology & Dental Public Health.

Academic Senate Distinguished Faculty Awards Ceremony

Recipients of the Academic Senate Distinction In Teaching Awards and the Distinction In Mentoring Awards will be honored in the afternoon of Thursday, May13, 2015 in the Lange Room of the UCSF Library (Parnassus Campus).
