School of Dentistry and Academic Senate Call for Service

The San Francisco Division of the Academic Senate invited members of the UCSF Senate to vote in early February 2019 on a Memorial to the Regents urging University of California to divest its endowment portfolio of all investments in 200 publicly traded fossil fuel companies with the largest carbon reserves.

Dear Faculty:

The SOD Faculty Council is currently seeking members for the following School-specific committees and a short-term (3-month) working group.

If you are interested in participating, please respond to this call and identify which committees/working groups are your preference. Please note that some of them have an earlier start date than others (summer 2019).

• Admissions Committee (seeking five faculty) - Meeting dates June - December 2019. Term is for upwards of three-years, renewable end of each year. Information on duties and functions can be found here.
• Student Status Committee Chairs - D1 and D3 cohorts (seeking two faculty).
  • Term is two years to four years; chair will follow the cohort of students from entry to graduation.

• Clinical Absences Policy Development Workgroup (seeking 4 faculty) - meeting dates June - September 2019.
  • Short-term working group to develop student absence policies in a clinical setting. Will work with SOD Student Affairs & Advocacy Office, along with clinic directors and clinical administrators in developing these policies. Term is from early summer to early fall 2019 only.
