2026 Call-for-Nominations
UCSF Academic Senate Distinguished Service Award
The UCSF Academic Senate is pleased to announce the call for nominees for the Senate Service Award aimed at recognizing one member of the UCSF faculty who is at the Associate or Full Professor level for a demonstrated record of university service with the Academic Senate. Faculty in the following series are eligible: Ladder Rank, In Residence, Clinical X, Health Science Clinical, and Adjunct faculty.
The award winner will have contributed with lasting impact to shared governance at UCSF, shown exceptional abilities in collaborating with the University’s many diverse stakeholders, and a sustained excellence and dedication in serving with the UCSF Academic Senate.
UCSF Faculty in the Ladder Rank, In Residence, Clinical X, Health Science Clinical, and Adjunct series may nominate, write letters of support for UCSF faculty, or self-nominate for the Senate Service Award. The Academic Senate Staff may also submit faculty nominations and write letters of support for nominated faculty. Details as to the elements of the nomination packet can be found on the Senate’s webpage on the award. Nomination packets are to be uploaded to the Senate Service Portal award nomination page once they are complete.
This award carries a small honorarium of $1,500 and is presented at the last Division meeting of the academic year as recognition of service to the UCSF academic community.
The nomination packet must include the following as a single PDF document:
- The Academic Senate’s Distinguished Service Award Nomination Form
- A letter of nomination (not to exceed two pages)
- The nominee’s current CV
