The Academic Senate is pleased to announce the selection of John Featherstone, MSc, PhD, Dean of UC San Francisco’s School of Dentistry and Professor of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences, as the recipient of the eighth annual Faculty Research Lecture in Translational Science.

Academic Senate News: Post-Event Summary 2017 Faculty Research Lecture in Translational Science: John Featherstone
The lecture, titled Chemistry Becomes Patient Care, will occur on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Cole Hall on the Parnassus Heights campus. Dr. John Featherstone will tell the story of how understanding the chemistry, biochemistry, and microbiology of the mouth has led to new dental laser technology and validated procedures for the management of dental decay based upon risk assessment.
Following the lecture a reception will be held near the Nobel Wall in the Medical Sciences Building on the Parnassus Heights Campus.
