The Academic Senate is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Distinction In Teaching and the Distinction In Mentoring Awards.
Recipients of the Academic Senate Distinction In Teaching Awards and the Distinction In Mentoring Awards will be honored by the Chancellor at the annual Founders Day Banquet on April 5, 2012 and at the Academic Senate Distinguished Faculty Awards Ceremony to be held April 27, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in HSW-303 (reception following on the mezzanine).
For 2012, the Academic Senate Distinction In Teaching Award for faculty at UCSF five years or fewer goes to David Kim Duong, MD, Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Medicine.
The 2012 Academic Senate Distinction In Teaching Award for faculty at UCSF more than five years goes to Harry Hollander, MD, Professor of Clinical Medicine, School of Medicine.
To select each year’s recipients the Academic Senate Committee on Academic Personnel designates a selection committee comprised of faculty and student representatives from all four schools.
The 2012 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award for faculty at the Associate rank is Tracy Weitz, PhD, Associate Professor In Residence, Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences, School of Medicine.
The 2012 recipient of the Academic Senate Distinction In Mentoring Award for faculty at the rank of full Professor is Bruce Miller, MD, Professor In Residence, Memory & Aging Center, Departments of Neurology & Psychiatry, School of Medicine.
The Distinction In Mentoring Award Selection Committee is appointed by the Academic Senate Committee on Committees.
