Clinical Affairs Committee $20k Clinical Faculty Well-Being Fund

Committee on Courses of Instruction $6k towards updates to the Course Review system, including implementing COCOI’s DEI Initiative on the site and improving the user interface

Committee on Equal Opportunity/Senate Office Disability Resources Awareness Campaign
• $25k to sponsor strategic communications campaign around UCSF disability resources & accommodations for faculty
Committee on Faculty Welfare $45,000 Faculty Time Use Study
Committee on Research COR awarded grants to faculty across the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Nursing. Some highlights include grants to attend:
• American Society of Neuroradiology 2023 Annual Meeting
• World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
• International College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
School of Medicine Learning and Development
• $125k to faculty associated with 19 proposals (includes group proposals).
School of Nursing Learning & Development Fund (NFC)
• $40k to sponsor (8) SON faculty grants (tentatively planning a Fall 2023 application cycle to exhaust remaining funds)
School of Pharmacy • Master Preceptor Program is a development program for volunteer clinical faculty to precept UCSF students at key experiential education sites. Program members will be key experiential education (EE) partners who serve as mentors for other preceptors at the core EE institution. Participants will also provide stakeholder feedback and guidance to the EE team regarding EE curriculum, training program challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Mental Health First Aid is an educational program sponsored by the National Council for Behavioral Health which teaches the skills and techniques necessary to identify and assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. It has been implemented at pharmacy schools and in the broader population. It has been shown to reduce stigma towards individuals with mental illness and increase confidence and likelihood to help a person in distress.
